A common misconception is that once tint is on, it’s dry. However, it‘s not as simple as you think. Tint is a wet-applied film that requires moisture to slide the film into place. We refer to this liquid as “slip solution”.

Once the slip solution has served its purpose, we then extract it from the film with a high quality squeegee which maximizes moisture extracting while also preventing damage to the film or window. As good as our squeegees are, not all of the moisture can be extracted because of the underlying glue in the film.

While the film is still wet, it is perfectly normal for moisture bubbles to appear as shown in the pic. This is a result of the adhesive holding in residual moisture. As discouraging and messy as this looks, it will cure over time by evaporating through the pores of the film. This process typically takes about a week or 2 depending on the amount of sunlight exposure.

rolling up windows too soon

As far as rolling your windows down, we recommend waiting at least 3-5 days before rolling them down. While the moisture bubbles may not be fully dry yet. We are more concerned about the bottom edge of the film drying so that it won’t peel once you roll them down.

If any leftover moisture or excessive bubbling occurs 14 days after installation. Don’t hesitate to give us a call and let us warranty any window that needs to be redone! We pride ourselves on clean and quality results!
