Neglecting routine cleaning can reduce the coating's lifespan by up to 30%. Avoid tree sap, bird droppings, and other contaminants. 

Proper drying is essential to prevent water spots and maintain shine. Use high-quality microfiber towels and employ a blotting technique rather than dragging the towel across the surface. This gentle approach prevents scratches while removing moisture. Since mineral deposits from hard water can damage the finish, prompt drying is critical.

Every six months to one year, perform ceramic coating decontamination to remove embedded particles like tar and sap that regular washing cannot eliminate. These contaminants can harm the coating's performance and hydrophobic properties.

Schedule annual professional inspections to identify potential issues early and maintain the coating's protective qualities. If you notice significant wear, scratches, or diminished hydrophobic properties, consult a professional detailer for touch-ups or reapplication.

Wash every 2-3 weeks using the two-bucket method with a grit guard to minimize scratching. Fill one bucket with soapy water and the other with clean water, rinsing your wash mitt between sections. Use a high-quality microfiber wash mitt rather than sponges or brushes, which can damage the coating. Always choose a pH-neutral car shampoo specifically designed for ceramic coatings to maintain the hydrophobic properties. Use soft, clean microfiber towels or a touchless air blower. Always dry after washing to avoid water spots.

Alternatively, you can use a foam cannon to apply a pre-wash layer that loosens dirt and grime without direct contact.

Avoid harsh chemicals, alkaline-based cleaners, strong solvents, and abrasive scrub pads. Instead, select products specifically formulated for ceramic coatings. Test any new cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure compatibility.

Apply ceramic booster products every three to six months to refresh the coating's hydrophobic properties and water-repelling performance. Spray the booster on a clean, dry surface and buff it in with a microfiber cloth.
